[from here]And the center of the main hallways it was. Nice and tidy, right, right; a bit too quiet to be sure, but hey. The place would probably liven up soon, one way or the other. She, on the other hand, just needed to wait here for this Scott guy so they could go on their important mission of stealing instruments that may or may not be there

“There he is. Let‘s go,” he said aloud once the Sun Room was in view, a comment spoken partly for Sasuke’s benefit and partly out of absent thought.
Finally, they could begin. The days dragged on and were generally useless, while these small slivers of night, where they could move and further their own investigations, where he could be in his own element, were when the biggest pushes forward occurred. Frustrated energy was just as galvanizing as a full belly; he wanted to do something besides plot and unwillingly sunbathe.
He narrowed in on Zack, slowing as he and Sasuke came within distance, though he was reluctant to stop entirely. Surely the others were tired of joining together only to fail to accomplish anything, too. “Zack. Are you ready?”

Was he becoming too relaxed in this place? No, that couldn't be. There was no way that he could be relaxed with the possibility of a monster lurking around each and every corner (and in shadows and over the intercom and... well, everywhere). What a difference the comfort of defense could make!
"Ahh, but I do wish I could sing..." Brook sighed, "Yet nothing to cry over! Yohohoho! Now if I recall you simply go straight from here..." Stopping just outside of the Sun Room doors, Brook turned his attention around at each direction he could head, contemplating if he really wanted to risk the unknown that evening.

He had raised his hand to the door handle again when the snatch of words caught his attention. Really, it was almost luck how the tall man happened to pass by him just as he made to turn the knob. If Vino had known what might have been in that entry room ( ... )

Though it would have been a bit better had he heard first instead of felt the tapping on his arm. Brook started a bit, his song halting as his hair nearly hit the ceiling from the jump he made. Rounding towards his arm, Brook prepared for something that might want him for dinner, however found there was no need for such tension. Another patient, red-haired and inquisitional was asking him for some assistance! So much more welcoming ( ... )

Their destination wasn't far, and lucky for them, they weren't heading towards the Sun Room. Erika hadn't personally gone into that room during the night, but Momo made a point of avoiding this way. It was the most direct way, so Erika wasn't surprised that it might have been guarded or something. Since Sync had gone down there before, maybe he would know.
"So, is the Sun Room guarded at night? My 'friend' made a point of going around the back; of course, we still ran into some problems." Not that it was anything difficult to pass, merely annoying. She supposed the Sun Room was going to be a different matter... So she wanted to know if it was worth the effort or not to go through that place.

"Every time I've been there someone different was guarding it." Which must have been reason enough for most people not to bother with the basement altogether, tough the method of approach was never the same. While they barely managed to escape one encounter, the other was nothing more than a quick stroll.
"It depends on luck with who you end up with." He had a feeling Erika wouldn't be satisfied with an answer like that, but so far he hadn't been able to pick out a definite pattern with those encounters.

Folding his map and returning it to his pocket, the Scarecrow looked over his shoulder to make sure Mele was still there. He'd left in an awful hurry, but there wasn't time to lose if they were hoping to reach the second floor before the witches did.
"Believe me, Mele, I'm glad you're coming with me," he said cheerfully. "While this could be dangerous and I'd rather you be safe and all, I'm glad to have your company, especially if something like last night happens again." Oh, those shadows! While it had been only Depth Charge's that was misbehaving, it seemed his wasn't the only one in the Institute to act like that. What if it had happened to his? Would he have been able to see it, or would he have had to run from a danger he didn't even know was there? The thought was one that left the Scarecrow even more grateful for his friends.
"Did you see your shadow, too?" he continued, having nearly forgotten to ask.

"No," Mele lied, not wanting to talk about the shadows. "None of us are safe anywhere," she responded to Scarecrow's sentiment.

Scott slung his bat back over his shoulder as he slowed down and moved through the thinning crowd. "Okay, all black, purple hair, all black, purple hair..." he repeated to himself, all the while trying to ignore the fact that it was almost impossible to tell purple apart from black at first glance in this lighting.
He scanned his newly strengthened flashlight beam down the hall, catching glimpses of other patients before finally seeing one (incredibly short) girl in a black, Japanese-type kimono-thingy, whatever they were called. The hair colour was confirmed with a quick swish of the beam upward. Cute in a schoolgirl kind if way, Scott thought of the ponytail. She was probably the one he was looking for, unless Senna had a hot twin sister she hadn't said anything about.
"Hey," he said with a wave to get the girl's attention, making his way over to her. "I'm Scott. From the bulletin board? I'm guessing you must be- sword!" Scott pointed his arm rail-straight at the sword on Senna's hip, newly revealed by his ( ... )

Her expression swelled for a moment as she tried to withhold herself, but it was a failed endeavor. The girl burst out laughing, the sound carrying down the hall. It was... a weird sound in all the creepy darkness, so she sobered faster than she would have, wiping at her eyes. "Can you use a sword? 'Cause it'd be pretty silly to have one that you couldn't use."
So this was Scott. Seemed about the same he was on the board, except more... spazzy. Which was fine. It was a lot easier to deal with normal people than uptight missionaries all the time. She grinned at him, then held up her hands--making a C with one and putting her forefinger and thumb of the other hand next to it. Real life emote. :) "Yep! I'm Senna."

And thinking of it that way was a lot better than thinking about who she had lost.
Senna blew out a breath of air, pushing off the wall to stretch her arms over her head. "Yep! Sounds good." He was pointing the way she had planned so all was fine. Just another night, another set of travels.
