[from here]And the center of the main hallways it was. Nice and tidy, right, right; a bit too quiet to be sure, but hey. The place would probably liven up soon, one way or the other. She, on the other hand, just needed to wait here for this Scott guy so they could go on their important mission of stealing instruments that may or may not be there

Scott slung his bat back over his shoulder as he slowed down and moved through the thinning crowd. "Okay, all black, purple hair, all black, purple hair..." he repeated to himself, all the while trying to ignore the fact that it was almost impossible to tell purple apart from black at first glance in this lighting.
He scanned his newly strengthened flashlight beam down the hall, catching glimpses of other patients before finally seeing one (incredibly short) girl in a black, Japanese-type kimono-thingy, whatever they were called. The hair colour was confirmed with a quick swish of the beam upward. Cute in a schoolgirl kind if way, Scott thought of the ponytail. She was probably the one he was looking for, unless Senna had a hot twin sister she hadn't said anything about.
"Hey," he said with a wave to get the girl's attention, making his way over to her. "I'm Scott. From the bulletin board? I'm guessing you must be- sword!" Scott pointed his arm rail-straight at the sword on Senna's hip, newly revealed by his flashlight. "Oh my god, everyone has a sword but me tonight! How come everyone has a sword but me?" By Scott's definition, "everyone" meant two out of the three people he had met tonight, but that was good enough for him.
He coughed after a moment, lowering the pointing finger. "Uh, sorry. Weapon envy," he said, unconsciously shivering a little on the last word. "Anyway, yeah, you're Senna, right?"

Her expression swelled for a moment as she tried to withhold herself, but it was a failed endeavor. The girl burst out laughing, the sound carrying down the hall. It was... a weird sound in all the creepy darkness, so she sobered faster than she would have, wiping at her eyes. "Can you use a sword? 'Cause it'd be pretty silly to have one that you couldn't use."
So this was Scott. Seemed about the same he was on the board, except more... spazzy. Which was fine. It was a lot easier to deal with normal people than uptight missionaries all the time. She grinned at him, then held up her hands--making a C with one and putting her forefinger and thumb of the other hand next to it. Real life emote. :) "Yep! I'm Senna."

"O-of course!" he answered, trying to regain some of his composure, raising his bat up in a tightened grip for a moment. "I picked Longsword as a proficiency back in grade five, man. I'm a total badass with swords!" Never mind that the only sword Scott had used in the past decade-plus had been one that came out of his chest for all of five minutes. As far as he was concerned, using a sword was like riding a bike - you never forgot how to slice people in half with one.
His face relaxed into a more natural grin at Senna's gesture. He responded in kind with his forefinger and thumb next to an "O" he shaped with his other hand. :O "Sweetness. Ready to head upstairs, then?" he asked, pointing further down the hall. If they were going up to that part of the Institute again, he wasn't going to take his chances going up past the balcony again. From what he could remember, there had been a stairwell on the east side of the building as well, so why not take that instead, he figured?

And thinking of it that way was a lot better than thinking about who she had lost.
Senna blew out a breath of air, pushing off the wall to stretch her arms over her head. "Yep! Sounds good." He was pointing the way she had planned so all was fine. Just another night, another set of travels.
