It was then that he felt himself exhale. The Head Doctor's distracted rambling seemed to echo the confusion Stefan felt roiling inside of him, but he barely concentrated on what the doctor was saying. He finally rose to his feet and inched towards to the exit, which put him closer to Castiel, but he was less worried now that he knew that they were moments away from release.
The intercom message dissolved into static. Stefan looked at his roommate and said "Good luck" in the seconds before the audible click of the door unlocking.
After that, he was gone.
