Seems I can't escape all this talk of marriage. Death may have brought me away from my husband and his wretched father, but the last - what did you call it? Was it still a flood? The last flood dragged me right back into matrimony and misery. That woman was not me, but she was just as displeased with her husband as I was with mine. At least this Robert didn't break her nose every time she complained, or use her so poorly that she limped, but he was still a husband and husbands are good for nothing.
Now I hear talk of betrothal happening aboard this rotten place. Let's hope the husbands and future husbands-to-be aren't bullies, but if they are...well, no one's pushing anyone into marriage here, are they? No one's being sold to some man who is twenty years their senior in this place, is that not so? No one's virginity is being bartered in exchange for land, wealth, and courtly titles, yes?
So it'd be your own fault if your husband was a bully.
