When I was in college there was a local musician, Joe Vega. Joe played at all the local bars and clubs, he was your typical guy with a guitar that knew enough songs and was good enough to entertain the drunks. The one thing he could do was remember everyone. Once you were introduced to him he knew your first name and he would learn one thing about you, whether it was the type of beer you drank, the song your requested, that you were left handed, just something. It was a little strange because you would see him in like the grocery store and he knew you. Just a good memory.

But no one really thinks about how social networking really effects us. Before I moved to Dallas B was up here doing scarby, and she started here on LJ and got me hooked, and suddenly her Dallas friends were reading my LJ because I was always talking on hers. I went to the NTMD party that year where I met Jenn Tustin in person for the first time, and she already knew me. She started talking to me like we had known each other for more than two minutes. It freaked me out a little. Now I am more used to it.
