Just Sometimes
Sometimes, just sometimes, if Yunho concentrated hard enough, he could still sense the other three members: Yoochun’s raspy tone, Jaejoong’s melodious voice and Junsu’s harmonies. And just sometimes, when he and Changmin were singing, Yunho could not help but pause, waiting for one of the three to sing and when the music cut off, the producer exasperated with the many takes, that was when he realised that they were no longer there and it was still his turn to sing.
For a while music meant nothing to him; empty words were being sung and only the nothingness that he was feeling was being conveyed to the music. What was once a pleasure for him was now an instrument of torture; something that would not go away as he was constantly surrounded by it. Even at night, a moment where he should be alone, he could still hear music, whether it would be from Changmin practising in the room next door or from his restless mind playing their past songs.
And so Yunho thought, if he could not escape from it then he had might as well throw himself to it and so Yunho surrended, surrended himself to the music and it crashed over him the way sea waves washed over sand and Yunho found the more he gave himself over to it, the more he got back. What was once something painful to escape from was now a place of shelter; a sanctuary where his soul could relax and heal, to sing and rejoice through the hurt.
But sometimes, just sometimes, he could still feel the three besides their two and for that brief moment he felt complete.
