Change in the air

Just a quickie to add current news into the public domain!

It looks like we may have some movement on the house. min_t and I submitted an official letter of complaint to work demanding a schedule of works. Big meetings were held as the Director finally found out what was going on. There was much wrist slapping of guilty parties and i've been promised a response this week - hopefully by Wednesday.

On Friday I took part in the company's "big day out" - a competative and affirmation building event. I'm pleased to say that I was on the winning team (I even have a gold medal to prove it). Those who know my views towards unneccesary physical exertion will also be surprised to hear that I voluntarily took part in a relay race. Its all a matter of of visualisation and positivity according to the Consultant running the event. My secret to success was to visualise myself positively escaping the imaginary axe-wielding maniac chasing me...

In scary adult work-type news I was taken aside by my boss last week and asked to go above and beyond in my duties to help the company. Our Lincolnshire branch has been having issues recruiting project management staff and the program is in danger of falling seriously behind. I've been asked to go live over there for a few weeks to sort out the problem and get it back on track (eep!). Much debating has happened but the decision has been reached and i'm going to say yes on Monday. So by Thursday I will likely be winging my way towards troubleshooting territory - the question remains as to what type of armaments the issue requires... choices choices (any preferences between a scramsax or a broadsword?).

The weekend has been pretty good so far. Did some bodding around our new locality - visiting garden centers and Normanton Church on Rutland Water. In the evening I took min_t and my sis into Leicester.

Myself and Anna went and saw X-men: The Last Stand Before The Inevitable Wolverine The Movie, whilst min_t went off to meet up with Sue and Katie to watch Heist.

X-men 3 was at best ok - the action was good - but sadly the plot felt a little rushed and patchy, and some of the main events of the film felt more than a little gratuitous.

Today has seen me wash my new car for the first time and do a few essential engine checks. The car looks a lot more shiny for some attention - a few purchases for engine bits and bobs and all should be funkeh.

See you in the funny papers.
