So maybe just had my last weekend on the road. Solo'd it down to Blantyre on Friday, uneventful. Got picked up my Wisdom Mchungulu and spent the night with him and his wife Grace. Really nice couple, took me out to Blantyre sports club for dinner. SPoke bout how things are in Malawi and stuff. They also had warm showers and a warm bath (first I've had since leavin) ooo it was nice.

Saturday they dropped me into town, met up with 4 AV girls from St.Johns Lilongwe and we went to Open Arms (An orphanage) and played with some of the Children for an hour or so. Felt abit strange, I preferred playin with the older kids 5+ coz u could see the enjoyment on their faces, just sad that we have to leave. Apart from that the orphanage is a nice place, very clean and alot of toys for the kids to play with. After that the girls went off to a Tea Estate in Thyolo and I headed down to Doogles to meet up with more AV's.
We wondered around Blantyre for abit before spendin abit too much on food (2000Kwa on ice-cream, although thats only a tenner, still quite alot I guess) . Then headed up to get some donation money out for a family we used to know when we lived here. To my dismay/annoyance the banks nd Beareau de Change's had all closed. Eventually i got the money out on Mastercard. Then put some photos onto disc, bought some painting and got picked up again by the Mchungula's. Had tea at their house before being taken to the Chirwa's. The Chirwa's were a really nice couple who spoke about visitng in Christmas, and how they'd visited my grandma's (and want to do so again) and we had a really nice chat and meal in the evenin b4 going to bed.

Sunday - up early for Church (the final time at St.Pauls), good service with some classic hymns. The Chinlala's (the family I was donating money to) didn't turn up to Church unfortunately, so I gave my donation to Mrs Chirwa and she delivered it for me after I'd gone, they were really thankful for it, they rang me up twice to thank me, so that was really nice. Nice to know you can make someone so happy. Thanks to all those who sponsored me and allowing me to provide that happiness.
Anyway spent Sunday with Sophie Kalimba and her daughter (She's comin to leeds next year for an MBA in business or summat) Good food once again. I really was spoilt this weekend. Then Winnie (sophie;s daughter) arranged a lift home for me, so a pretty cheap weekend, and a very enjoyable one. I actually felt quite sad leaving Blantyre, Im sure I'll be back there soon.

The rest of this week has been spent at school, my form 1 lessons were cancelled as we had a staff meeting 1.30-5.00, pretty epic. Didnt get much sorted, but interested to see how things are handeled here. So this week we're sorting out end of term exams, i've written my form 1 comp exam and am helping write the form 4 exam. Had a blackout last night so I kinda circualted around some of the students, they spoke really positivly about my contribution, maybe because I was there, but the form ones where really happy to have the oppertunity to study comps and the form 4's said they enjoyed my lessons and that I was a good teacher. Even if they were lying I dont care, I'll rememberthose words. One of the form\ 4's asked about pen pals. So if anyone wants a Malawian Pen Pal, leave a comment.

The school has been really enjoyable to be apart of, the teaching, living in the community and all that goes with it. It was unfortunate that I was not at a less privileged school but I think I've definately made a positve change to some of these students lives. They could do with some more up to date comps though, might have to see if I can do anything about that.

Anyway Charlie has finished on his comp so I best head off.

Word to y'all

Looking forward to seeing u in the summer

good luck with everything, especially those with exams

Jamou
