Eyes closed, weary fatigue bearing down upon him, it still look longer than it should have for the veil of slumber to properly catch him, what with how he spent more time than he cared to consciously account for counting Sebastian's heartbeats as they resonated against him, each pulse accompanied instantly memorized sounds of the snap of a bone and the unnatural resonating stretch of a tendon and the creak of a swelling and tightening muscle-
He did, eventually, fall asleep, his brown frozen into a frown, hand sorely still clenching around Sebastian's shirt, his whole body angled in against him in a specific way just for the sake of being able to feel his pulse, and his breath, curling up around the way his hand still curled over his wrist.
