go see king kong right now
then try to think of a better movie that came out this year... cuz I can't think of one.
Some of my favorites (in no order whatsoever)
War of the Worlds
Star Wars Episode 3
Walk the Line
Crash
Batman Begins
King Kong
I feel bad that for the most part, these are all blockbusters, with the exception maybe of Crash. What it lacked at the box-office, it made up for with sheer starpower, so it therefore counts as a hugely hyped blockbuster
I did not see The Constant Gardener or Downfall, both of which had huge critical success.
I also have not had the chance to see Munich, Syriana, Goodnight and Good Luck, Brokeback Mountain, or A History of Violence, but intend to as soon as they are on DVD or are at the dollar theater so I can check them.
Any others I'm forgetting? I'm sure there are tons
