counting the days
This week hurts pretty hard as far as work goes. I'm just waiting on the weekend. Detroit rock city here we come.
The Storm and I are heading up there for a Rob Thomas (her husband) concert on Saturday night at the Masonic Temple theaterhouse. Gonna also check out the casinos while we're there. Who knew, but fuck windsor, because there's a one year old MGM Grand up there, as well as another casino which opened up this past spring. If I'd known that this time last year, I'd never have gone to windsor. Inflated alcohol prices be damned! I wanna drink for free so I can waste more money on gambling.
I took a huge hit in the testicles (see also: wallet) on the hotel room, but fuck, I'm not gonna pay 40 bucks for a 1-star or 2-star hotel in downtown detroit and get robbed or have half my shit in my car stolen. Fuck that. Saving money isn't that important. I'm not gonna say just how much the one night stay at the Hotel Pontchartrain cost... I will say it was nearly 3 times that amount after tax & fees, but oh well. The price you pay for feeling safe I guess.
The last few hotels I've stayed at have been single level, park beside your room type places where the windows leaked and the doors weren't so secure. Granted I didn't pay a dime for either one of them, so I can't really complain, but this time, I'm splitting the cost 50/50 with someone, so the final bill is BEARABLE.
anyway, anybody have any experience with the detroit casinos?
if all goes well, I'm hitting up the riverboats in the spring.
