So I am working on a steampunk vampire. The dress is going to be basic Victorian wear in black and white stripes with black lace and red ribbon trim. The fun part is going to be the blood box. I decided that as a vampire, I would like an artificial heart that would provide me with a steady stream of fresh blood. It is a work in progress but the basics are behind the cut.
I am working on a full bustle petticoat, using a Truly Victorian pattern
Here is the supplies and the back drape of the bustle petticoat with the lines of lace sewn on.
I am currently working on the skirt for the dress. Here it is sewn together but without the waistband added. I also want to add waterfall drapes to the back before adding the waistband.
I am working on the box and the bottles of blood for decoration. The box is a cheap wood box from a hobby store. I stained the outside of the box a darker brown and then painted the inside gold. Finally, I used glass paints to add a heart to the glass window on the box. The little bottles are filled with fake blood and the tagged with A, B, or O for blood type.
I am also working on a funky hat. The hat is not intended to be Victorian, more of a fantasy creation. The hat was blocked by me on an antique wood hatblock. Then I cut the remaining body of the hat to resemble a heart. I tacked up the point of the heart. And then I got a hold of some hot fix crystals. Here it is with the first 2 sizes added, there is so much more to add to this hat.
So far I am having a lot of fun with this project.
