Soooo psych nursing. First. It'd be a good idea probably to email the ED manager and ask them what experience they are most looking for in a new hire. Frankly. Med/surg rehab or tele would be my guess. Not psych. Just from what I know. ED jobs as a new grad are possible but my broken record self would tell you to get rehab as in acute rehab or subacute rehab experience. Not psych. I think I'd turn down any dementia or long term care floors. Subacute rehab nursing is a good next step to getting a hospital job and your pt load is smaller.
