Fletcher was worried. He was still awake even though it was approaching three in the morning; time didn't matter quite so much anymore. And he was together with his father, but he hadn't spoken to Russel for a whole day. So now the small boy was sitting, curled up on a cot in the cell he and Nash were resting in, watching his father pace the length of the room.

They'd come so far. They were going to be okay, all of them. They'd take control of the ship and that DRT machine also. They were finally going to go home.

Russel made his way through the halls. All the new arrivals via various means gave him enough inspiration to see if Nash and Fletcher were among them. Soon enough, he found exactly who he was looking for. A smile came across his face as he was reunited with his family. "Dad! Fletcher!" he said, on his way in. The others could note that there was no limp to go with the bullet wound he'd admitted to previously.

But he bypassed Nash, and went straight to Fletcher. "You guys are alright?"

Fletcher's head jerked up when he caught sight of Russel, and a smile broke out on his face. He pushed himself to his feet and instantly latched on to him; it had been too long. He just nodded while Nash answered -- their father's face had a relieved look on it too, almost a smile but not quite.

"We haven't been injured," Nash replied, looking over Russel to make sure he was all right. He didn't seem to be hurt despite what he'd said earlier, so he must have gotten himself to a healer. And Nash wasn't telling the complete truth; it wouldn't be visible under his long sleeves, but Fletcher was wearing a t-shirt, so there was no hiding that now-healing, self-inflicted knife wound on his arm. "How did you make it over here?"

"Someone was offering flights between ships. I volunteered and held on for dear life. When we get home, remind me to learn how to swim," he smirked. He held Fletcher about as tightly as the child held him. He only loosened their mutual grasp long enough to crouch down to his level more easily. He'd noticed the cut in Fletcher's arm, but he knew the necessity of it.

This was the first time Nash was really seeing just how close Russel and Fletcher were to one another; he'd only seen the both of them in the same place once before. Despite everything that had happened, and how much he had failed the both of them, the two of them pulled through. He was glad to see it. But there was business to discuss -- a much less awkward subject.

"Having another alchemist around will be useful in helping to take control of this ship," Nash said. "You've received the antidote, yes?"

He glanced back to his father, pulling back from Fletcher a bit. "Yeah, of course." It was nice to see his father actually taking action. He stood, slipping finally out of Fletcher's grasp. "What's the plan?"

Fletcher stood beside Russel, still clinging on to one of his hands, and looked up at Nash when Russel asked that question. With those big, wide, puppydog eyes that always made Nash flail internally and feel like the biggest heel in the world.

"Whatever the plan is, it's not something I know about," he answered. "Fletcher and I have remained in this safe zone for the past three days. I'd recommend speaking to another person."

Fletcher seemed worried. "We could just stay here," he suggested. "And make sure this place stays safe."

"We've done a lot of hiding on the sidelines. I'm ready to go in head-first," he admitted with a casual shrug. This wasn't just your usual teenage psuedo-invulnerable recklessness. Add in no small amount of additional talent, and he'd be hard-pressed to be stopped.

Worrisome. Russel was still a teenager, of course, so it was to be expected, but...

Any protest Nash might have had was cut off by Fletcher. "Brother's actually really strong," he said, and from the way his face was set in determination it was clear this wasn't just brotherly adoration speaking. "He taught me everything I know, and he's even as good as this friend of ours who's a State Alchemist."

And Fletcher's determination and willingness to speak up like this -- even as young as he was -- surprised Nash and made him consider. He'd seen a small hint of how powerful Fletcher was; Russel was likely moreso. "You'd better not get killed," was all he said.

"Of course not," he replied, a wide smirk on his face. "Let's go see what needs to be done." He started toward the doorway.

He knew and understood very acutely where Nash's misgivings came from. "Alchemy is for the people, right?"

As much as he didn't like hearing those words, the State Alchemists' motto, coming from Russel's mouth, Nash nodded. Fletcher kept hold of Russel's hand and walked alongside him, and Nash followed. He'd never liked seeing the two of them use alchemy, but around here there was little choice.

He surprised himself by thinking that maybe, perhaps, they could discuss it when they went home.

Kairi got up from her cot and started pacing, half-nervous and half-excited. Though she knew he was okay, it had been a few days since she'd seen him last. She'd finally gotten to the point she could no longer sit still. Riku had been by, briefly, but he was off to somewhere else. It wasn't enough. She wanted to see Sora, too.

A year had passed since she was waiting on the beach. Now she stood standing below the decks of a ship for the exact same person.

Sora hadn't seen Kairi at all since he'd first been kidnapped by the corporation, and awoken practically half-dead in that huge cell. And while he'd been told that Kairi was okay, that didn't stop him from worrying about her any moment he had the chance to stop and think.

But now he'd finally been teleported to the ship she was on, and he'd get to see her himself! As soon as he got the time to get away, he practically ran to where they said she was waiting.

Sora didn't bother with pauses or waiting this time...he just rushed straight up and wrapped his arms around her in a hug.

"Kairi!" He couldn't think of anything else to say, although just in her name there was a whole world of relief, of gratefulness, and happiness.

The Keyblade master had managed to grab hold of her before she'd fully turned around. He'd beaten her to the punch. In her own desire to embrace him, she twisted in his grasp and pulled out her arms to throw them over his shoulders.

"Sora! It's really you!" It wasn't an illusion. It wasn't another dream like she'd had the last few nights. It was him.

With her eyes shut tight, Kairi gave him a huge smile. "I couldn't wait. I knew I'd see you again." Even then, a tear inched down her cheek. "And you're okay!"

It ended up being a little awkward as Kairi twisted around in his grip to hug him back, but in the end they at least both hugged the other. "It's me!" Sora managed, grinning from ear to ear with relief. "I was so worried about you!" This was, of course, putting it lightly.

Sora nodded...he knew that they would always see each other again. "Yeah, but..." Sora suddenly panicked at the sight of what looked like a tear rolling down Kairi's cheek. "Don't cry! I'm okay, really!" He spread his arms out as if to demonstrate how injury-free he was (even though in actuality he WAS still sore from fighting and getting shot in the arm at least once).
