In the days that had followed the successful 'decoding' of the necessary components to create the vaccine, Xemnas had found himself suddenly in need of most - if not all - of the necessary pieces. Not surprising, really. He hadn't thought much of trying his hand at chemistry prior to the event; it had generally been Vexen's responsibility for the past nine years or so. However, he was not present within the city and thus things had been forced to change. He didn't mind though. It was quite 'enjoyable' to return to this, and he was lucky enough to have settled in a place not too far from where the appropriate supplies could be found.
And if he happened to be raided what had once been a school, well, he rather doubted that anyone would care overmuch. The building seemed to have long since been abandoned, and so it was far better that he put that which he found to good use, instead of letting it simply lie dormant and forgotten.
Sadly, the lack of portals had made things far more different, but he had managed to find something to carry his find all the same. A brief raid of the dorms had turned up a simple backpack, and despite the oddity of wearing it over the ever-present coat of the Organization, he managed to somehow pull it off with as much gravitas as he would have otherwise. There was no shame in it, after all.
