Harry kept fading in and out during the ride back home. He wanted to be there for Riza, but the pain and exhaustion was overwhelming, and every time he tried to distract himself by thinking of something, his mind returned to the Soulgaze, tearing open the wounds to his psyche once again. He couldn't help but wonder about what the others were doing, but couldn't think on it too much before blacking out again ( ... )

Hotaru was preparing to leave the Strand to do her daily (well, almost daily...Pixie was too much fun to hang around for her to go every day) round about the city when Riza and Harry entered. She stopped in her tracks, henshin pen still in her pocket, and a worried look passed over her face. Harry she had met once or twice, but she hadn't ever met the blonde before, and they both looked to be in bad shape.

She didn't even glance down at her hands to know that her healing power was already starting to make itself manifest. Instead, she hurried over to the couch and placed a hesitant hand on Riza's arm, but glanced back and forth between the both of them. "Let me help." She didn't ask if either was okay, already knowing and seeing that the woman wasn't.

She had felt the darkness looming in the city, and it had terrified her. If this was the result of it... Hotaru swallowed and shook her mind free of dark thoughts.

Molly had been watching from her balcony, too worried to do much but pace and stare blankly out into the empty street. Once the jeep had come into view and slowing to a halt, she had grabbed her makeshift medical bag and dashed for the lobby.

Pausing only to stare at just how bad they looked along at the girl already there, without another word she knelt by Harry and dug through her medical supplies already cataloging what she'd need.

It would always amaze her how Harry could crack a joke at a time like this. She didn't smile but she did let out a shaky breath that could probably be translated as 'oh you.'

Riza hadn't noticed the girl at first, not until she was at her side with a hand on her shoulder. Riza looked up at her and nodded, "Thank you." She noticed Molly come in as well and was glad to see the girl go to Harry. In her opinion, her fiance looked 10 times worse than she did.

Hotaru glanced at Molly, glad that she was taking care of Harry. She wasn't sure if she could cure two people's extensive injuries at the same time, especially in this city with everyone's powers already compromised.

So she smiled gently at Riza, closed her eyes, and held her hands out. A soft violet glow appeared over the sniper's wounds, and Hotaru concentrated. It was so much harder to do this here, but...

Harry gave Riza a shaky grin, before the two girl's drew his attention. Blinking up at Hotaru, Harry looked at the younger girl curiously. He remembered talking with her about magic over the network, but it seemed the Strand's youngest girl had a few surprises up her sleeves.

Harry was grateful, both that she was healing them, and that she had gone to Riza first. He could only hope they wouldn't drain the girl too much.

Blinking over at Molly, Harry gave her a smile that probably wasn't very comforting. "Hey there Grasshopper. I miss any wild parties?"

Thomas had worried like hell when he had seen Riza go off after Harry. However, he had done as Harry had asked and gone to the nearby buildings to warn people about the danger. Still, he hadn't been prepared for the state Harry and Riza had returned in.

"Empty night," he muttered as he entered the room. He had passed Molly in the hallway rushing towards the lobby and had guessed right away where she was going. Either that, or he had thought she might be going to join the fight and to stop her but thankfully that wasn't the case. Granted, he had seen Harry look just as badly injured plenty of times. He crossed over to watch as Molly and Hotaru patched them up, anything he could think to say would only come out as 'the obvious.' "Need any help?"

Havoc wasn't worried, exactly. He did want to come see how the Lieutenant and the others had fared after... whatever it was had sent them out in a big damn hurry. (After making sure she was fully stocked, of course.) He stayed out of the way, a cigarette hanging loosely from his lips. Looks like the girl with the black hair had Hawkeye taken care of.

"I think I need to send the boys out to track down some more pistols, Lieutenant," he said, a faint smirk on his face. "You're alright?"

"Yeah." Molly replied, smiling weakly at Harry. "You missed all the fun." For the next few minutes, she did nothing but concentrate solely on gently tending his more serious wounds, trying not to wince too obviously at just how bad he'd gotten himself injured this time around.

Taking a minute breather, she glanced over to the other girl and blinked in slight surprise. Well that was interesting...

As typical of the Strand, they seemed to be attracting quite the crowd. Riza hadn't known the small girl was a healer, but she wasn't going to argue with her. Already the pain was starting to ease a little from her ribcage where her ribs had been cracked.

However, if the girl started to look strained she'd probably ask her to stop. She took a deep breath, she felt so tired suddenly.

Riza turned her attention away from the girl to Thomas and Jean. "I'm fine," it was a lie, well physically she was fine but she was fairly certain when she started to think about what had happened she would be anything but.

"We could probably do to find more grenades," she replied to Jean. She closed her eyes for a moment to hold back the memory of her near suicidal attack.

Reaching up, Harry gave Molly's shoulder a little squeeze with his good hand, trying to form a reassuring expression on his battered face. "See, I always miss all the fun. I swear, you guys wait until the second I step out that door, and suddenly it's a nonstop party."

Lowering his voice a little, he murmured, "I'm going to be okay grasshopper."

Glancing up at his brother, Harry gave a weak grin and said, "Pain killers, a soft bed, and a side order of fries if you please."

"I can get you two out of three," Thomas replied, rolling his eyes at Harry's request. His half-brother always found some way to make light of a situation like this.

He sighed and headed out of the room to find the pain killers. There were bottles probably all over the house. Thomas brought the bottle back and tossed it to Harry.

"Is it too early to ask what the hell happened out there?" He had sort of sensed the presence of whatever was out there but had been following Riza's request to take care of everyone else. He was starting to wish he had gone along, perhaps then Riza and Harry wouldn't be in such a state.
