The drive back home was eerily quiet and Riza wasn't exactly sure how she made it without crashing. It was pretty sad that between Harry and herself she was the one best suited to drive when she had a few cracked ribs, as well as all sorts of cuts and bruises all over her body. She wasn't going to admit to the emotional injuries, as a soldier it just wasn't something you admitted to. Still, after all that, she had a feeling Harry was just as bad off emotionally at this moment as physically.
The main reason she didn't say anything, however, was she was afraid that as soon as she opened her mouth she'd start sobbing again. It was just too much, there was too much in her head to deal with right now. All she could do was focus on driving and getting them back to the building that served as both a fort and home.
Harry might have noticed her hands were gripping the steering wheel extra tightly as her knuckles were chalk white.
She didn't realize they were home until she found herself slowing down automatically. She had been driving purely on instinct. Riza climbed out of the car and somehow her steps weren't shaky, although she felt like they should be. She did limp a little though, her leg was bleeding pretty good and her ribs were killing her making it hard to breath properly.
Riza managed to look at Harry once and nearly broke down there. No, she couldn't do that though. She couldn't let it out right there on the street. Still, it was all over her face. She was not okay and it was taking a lot to hold back the emotion behind her eyes. Riza's mask was cracking as easily as her ribs had been.
The sniper managed to stumble into the lobby and onto one of the couches before deciding that was far enough.
