What Happened to My City )
"Get some beauty sleep. You guys really need it." Having had enough exploring for the day, Riku began to head back. It had been a while since he'd ben so far south, but to no surprise he found nothing new. Rosette would probably kill him if she knew he'd been out by himself.
Then again, maybe it was better he did. Riku paused. There's a guy. In a business suit. And no weapon. ...This guy MUST be another one. He sighed and approached.
"Hey! You! New around here?"

"Not really" Xanatos began, "Last night I left on some important buisness and when I returned the city was like this. What happened here?"
Reply
Riku raised an eyebrow. "Last night, huh? I seriously doubt that." Crossing his arms, he began to answer the man's question. "Or if you did, there are a lot of people who want to know how you did it. Because many of us have been trapped here with building-sized monsters for months." Thumbing over his shoulder to the two crabs he'd slain, he continued, "not to mention those things."
"So if you were here recently, you'd have your gun out."
Reply
"Those creatures over there", Xanatos pointed to the two slained crabs, "Did that monster summon them?" Xanatos began to move closer to them for further inspection.
Reply
"Summon? Heh, if it were that smart we'd have worked something out by now." He shook his head. "These are parasites that fall off the monsters."
"Look, don't touch." Riku waved a finger as he idly followed. "Prick a finger on a tooth and you're gonna need much more than a bandaid."
Reply
"Parasites you say." Upon visual inspection of the creauteres, Xanatos ruled out the possiblity that these would be any type of creature living on Oberon; he seemed a bit too refined to have fleas anyways. The monsters that laid in front of him however did not seem natural at all, and there was only one person Xanatos was aware of who would even fatham such a monsterous creation.
"These creatures look tough" Xanatos said turning to Riku, "You are obviously a skilled warrior, and very knowledgeable about the city." Xanatos put his hand on Riku's sholder, "I think it would be in both our interest if you could help me to one of my storage bases nearby. Once I get one of my battle suits, I'll be more than capable of defending myself against vermin such as this."

Riku looked at Xanatos's hand a moment before gently shrugging it off. No need to alienate the guy already, especially if he had no clue what he was getting himself into. "Sure. Whatever, but I don't think this is the city you think it is. This place has gotten people claiming to live in this country just to find out something's wrong."
"When you find out the base isn't there, I'll get you someplace safe." That being said, the idea of some "battle suit" conjured images of armor, and as unlikely as it would be if it existed, the idea certainly had his attention.

He looked about once more to get his barings of the area and pointed himself north.
"We should head to Pack Media Stuidios, I keep some emergency supplies there, and I think this completely qualifies."
Reply
"A lot of enemies, huh?" Riku unfolded his arms and slowly began to walk behind Xanatos to his other side.
"You know, that reeeeaaally makes me wonder why. Or even if it would be smart for me to help you get to Pack Media Studios, WHICH, by the way, I've never heard of. Trust me, I've been stuck on this island a while, I think I would have noticed something like that." The teen looked less-than-amused.
"So tell me, who are you and why should I take you there instead of somewhere we know is safe?"

"Not really," Riku began, putting his thumb back into his pocket and sighed. "Really, it sounds like you've been thrown into this place same as the rest of us. There's a cathedral here, but not St Damien's. Never heard of Xanatos Enterprises or Gargoyles, though that would be interesting. And if there was a castle here, well... It would have been destroyed before I got here."
"Oh, icing on the cake. The World Trade Center. Twin Towers, right? Yeah, heard about it from people here. Destroyed years before the monsters showed up. Two thousand... One maybe? Don't remember. Point is you're not where you think you are."
Riku leaned on his Keyblade, still looking as pleased as ever. "You still haven't told me why I should help you."

"If anything, I could serve as another advanced mind trying to get off this dump and back to where we all come from. I've worked with dimensional travel before, and in this case for me, time travel as well."
Xanatos shifted his attention towards the view of the Statue of Liberty again.
"One this is for sure though. I will find a way to get back to my time, and prevent something like this from happening." He turns back to Riku, "What year is it anyways now?"

Xanatos did have his attention at the idea of dimensional or time travel. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he wondered if he could fix the terrible mistakes he made, but dismissed the idea. Riku knew he had to take responsibility for his problems. "Other dimensions. That's something I haven't heard someone talk about here." He followed the man's gaze. "I always thought this world just took the shape of another one. Since you're not the first to talk like that."
"It's 2009. Why? Your time machine's busted?"

Xanatos looks about again.
"So I guess I'm trapped 15 years in an alternate future. May as well make the best of things. I may be without my weapons, but I'm still one of the highest educated people from my world and I happen to know a lot about machines and genetics. Perhaps I could be of some help to the survivers of this monster ridden city?"
Xanatos again focuses on Riku.
"Well whoever you are, would you be kind enough to take me to this 'saftey' you spoke of?"
Reply
"Well, there may be a team that would like to have you. Guess we'll see, right?" His tone was almost off-handed.
"Sure. Name's Riku, by the way." He motioned for Xanatos to follow. "I'm taking you to Madison Square Gardens. It was where a lot of people had to hole up after a massive monster attack. Myself included for a little while. Still a safe spot. You'll find what you need to start there."
Reply
"At least I know the location from where the world I came from. This is the right way isn't it?"
