Tony Stark was never nervous.
Well, that was a slight lie. There had been several points in his life during which he had been downright terrified, but he tended to take steps in insuring those points never repeated themselves. No, what was irritating with this situation was that he had done thousands of press conferences. He had faced down a room of terrorists with no weapon but his reputation. And yet this meeting, with what looked like enough teenagers and children to give even the calmest of trained teachers a headache, had him checking and rechecking his notes like a schoolkid about to give his first book report. Bring on the press, and the sarcastic reporters who spent too much time elbow-deep in the internet looking for something to make your poker face crack.
At least this time there was no smug-faced agent of SHIELD with a ready pile of cue-cards. He wouldn't put it past him, though. Tony checked one last time, despite having memorised the entire thing yesterday, and then looked around at the empty space he'd claimed as a meeting hall. Seconds to go. Somehow, he noted distractedly, even with a suit of the toughest metal alloy he could make by hand in the two weeks since he'd arrived, he felt a little exposed in the hall. Sasuke had disappeared into one of the side rooms, as far as he could work out, and no one had thought to arrive early. Points to them. With a last wry perusal of his notes, he minimised the document window and cleared his vision completely for the inevitable arrivals.
((ooc: Yes, Tony's wearing a new suit of armor he's designed and made. It looks like [
THIS]. A description of the area can be found at the planning post [
HERE]. We're giving this meeting an actual structure, alright? It being as follows: the initial 'arrival and mingling' period, after which (once threads are established) Tony will call them all to order. Then the speeches begin. He'll go first, in a new thread, and responses to that follow on from that comment. Then he'll invite someone else to speak, and they start a new thread for their say. And so on. We can have several speech threads going on at the same time, as long as you say which speech yours is following after. Any other issues or if I've missed anything, contact me on Got Materia and we can work it out!))
