Throughout everything that had happened in Manhattan, from the moment he'd been snatched from that defining moment of obliterating Omega as Chaos, to the six or more months after leading to this moment, Vincent honestly hadn't been prepared, and had, in fact, been a little anxious about it. Would she back out at the last minute? Would he screw something up again? All the while, he made sure to keep his mouth shut unless spoken to, and make the necessary movements as directed. Everything else had filtered out of his mind aside from her, clad in that dress, and willing to be with him like this.

He took his time, despite her eagerness. He wanted to savour all of this, this moment, this event. It was situations such as these that he'd been grateful for not being able to feel, but he wanted to know what her happiness felt like. He wanted to know if this was what she truly wanted, if she was actually happy.

His expression was calm, his voice also hesitant, but the obvious was replied to. He would stay with her. He would fight for her. She gave him purpose in an existance that seemed meaningless. Even if he was destined to fade, if everything was meant to be forgotten when everyone finally returned home, they would endure. They would be together through it all. They had already, had been seperated, had even nearly died once... but they survived because of the other.

Family he never thought he'd have, new stepchildren... it was enough to force a small smile out of him, for the first time in a long time. This was their dream; to settle down.

It was happening at last.

He would fight to keep them alive, to keep their hope alive. There was a future to be created, after all.
