Not once in her life had Lucrecia expected to get married a second time. Once had been enough in her mind, especially with everything that had happened back at home.. Hojo.. Sephiroth... Vincent. She'd never thought she would love again, never imagined she'd be allowed to. As she stood there in a dress she'd found in a shop - not exactly a wedding dress, but the prettiest one she'd found here so far - she couldn't help but feel her heart swell. Not knowing what he was feeling over there, made her nervous, but she knew Vincent wouldn't have popped the question, as it were, without a reason, without meaning it. He did care for her, even if they had spats every so often.
She would miss him terribly if anything happened.
The smile on her face was warm, inviting, and a touch sorrowful as she stood there. Sorrowful, if only for the simple fact that she had not expected this day to come. A time once existed when she had feared he would never awaken, where she had thrown herself into an existence that was meaningless... and then non-existent. Her research was everything, and then he was, but it was too late.
Now... standing here with him beside her, in front of her, she knew she wouldn't throw away this second chance. It was going to exist and she was going to hold onto it. She wouldn't throw it away. Even if... even if they all managed to go home someday and even if the home that awaited her was the mako crystal's prison... she would still fight...
Her reason to fight, to continue her research?
He was standing right beside her. And nothing was going to tear them apart again.
The marriage itself went by too fast for Lucrecia's liking, but at least she made it through. Her voice was hesitant, but she got through everything she was supposed to say with a smile. And that was all she really needed. She could only hope that Vincent wasn't getting second thoughts about all of this.
Maybe this day, this occasion, could remind everyone of what that first wedding had proclaimed - that there was happiness and hope in this desolate place.
