Harry hadn't been specifically invited to this conference, but given he'd been following things since near the beginning, he felt an obligation to help however he could.

Besides, he'd learned the importance of sharing information with the right people in authority in the past. Aya reminded him a great deal of Murphy, his close contact in the Chicago PD and his most trusted friend. He had a feeling she was the kind of law enforcement officer who was willing to keep an open mind, and dedicated to serving and protecting. That was enough to earn the wizard's respect.

He arrived pretty early, case notebook in hand, and sat off to the side, just watching. This was Aya's show, he'd follow her lead.

Thomas hadn't planned on coming originally but after being kidnapped by the people here and listening to that ridiculous CFP broadcast his curiosity and annoyance with this place was starting to peak again. He'd been treating this place like a vacation for too long and it was probably about time he started getting serious.

That being said he had followed his younger brother to the location and decided now that they were both here he could make his presence known. Before he went over, however, Thomas filled up two cups with the coffee Aya had set out and made to sit next to Harry. He sat one of the cups in front of him as he sat, "Morning sunshine."

Harry accepted the coffee gratefully with a lighthearted, "I knew I kept you around for a reason."

Sipping the coffee, he muttered, "Probably should stay alert. This was announced over the network, I wouldn't be surprised if we got an unexpected visitor."

Thomas rolled his eyes, "I knew I was good for something." He lifted his own cup to his mouth and took a long sip, it was bitter as hell but damn if it didn't help.

He glanced over at Harry, lowering his coffee, "What? Please, tell me you don't think this is going to turn out like that tunnel meeting fiasco and that by unexpected visitor you mean someone human," he paused, "slightly human and not something large that could tear down the building."

Harry winced as he sipped his own coffee. Apparently Godot had ruined him for bad coffee.

"I'm not saying it will, just that I wouldn't dismiss the possibility. Consider our track record here," he replied with a weary sigh. He really couldn't remember the last time he had a break.

Thomas sighed in exasperation, it just went to show how fucked up their lives were when Harry was predicting a surprise visit from Clover and they lived in a freaking fort. Actually, Harry had arguably lived in a freaking fort before he got here so maybe that wasn't much of a stretch. "Someone had an extra bowl of paranoia this morning, good to know you're still keeping that as a part of your healthy diet, Harry," Thomas teased.

"Meanwhile, I think I'll try to keep my hopes up that we'll avoid any visitors like that," Thomas muttered, taking another sip of the coffee.

"Riza and I believe in a balanced breakfast of suspicion," Harry replied easily, swallowing more of the coffee. When one was surrounded by people who wanted one dead, a army of bloodthirsty creatures, two giant monsters, and a shadowy conspiracy, a little paranoia did seem merited.

Of course, Harry's life had been like that well before

"You always were the optimist in the family," Harry teased softly. Looking around, he sighed and said, "Of course, with this crowd we won't need Clover for things to get interesting."

"Someone has to be," Thomas muttered with a slightly amused grin. To be honest he was probably about as paranoid as Harry, you had to be when you grew up in a house like the Raiths. Still, Thomas knew how to be more laid back about it because that was also a part of the Raith family doctrine.

Thomas glanced around the room without actually moving his head. He noticed Zero was among them as well as two crazy blokes in ridiculous getups. Actually he wasn't sure whose disguise was more ridiculous: Zero's or the one with the Groucho Marx specs. "Maybe we'd blend in more if we'd come in with bags on our heads or something," Thomas remarked.

It was probably also because until recently he also got laid a lot more.

Harry snorted and said, "At this point we could be dressed as Batman and Spiderman and I'd doubt we'd get a second glance."

Thomas let out a laugh, "I like that idea. We should do that. It would certainly help the people feel safe." He paused for a moment, "That is...if half the people here even recognize those characters. That'd be a drag, wouldn't it?"

Harry grinned mischievously and replied, "Hell, wouldn't be the stupidest costume I ever wore." He shuddered at Thomas's implications, and said, "Then it would be our obligation to share with them the giants of our literary heritage."

Besides, they'd still look less silly than Zero...or the guy with the discount disguise.

"Would probably be the most conservative one I've ever worn," Thomas muttered, although now that he thought about it, he wouldn't be surprised if there were...less conservative versions of the classic superhero costumes around the city somewhere. Nope, wouldn't surprise him at all. He wondered how that image would go over but for the most part kept it to himself.

He took another drink from his coffee and looked over at the front where a tech guy was setting up while talking to Sora. "So, since we're still waiting, how are you and Riza." He lowered his voice for a moment, "I heard there were plans to up security at Fort Strand...are we really going to be putting in some sniper nests?"

Luckily Harry had a lot of practice dealing with the horrifying mental images his brother regularly evoked, and managed to suppress any visual of Thomas in spandex before it even formed. "Well, I'm glad to know slutty Batman is on the list of things even you won't wear," he replied, rolling his eyes.

"Pretty good, aside from my mouth getting me landed on the couch for a night," Harry answered in a joking tone, before lowering his voice as well. "Given the nature of some of our ladies gentlemen callers, and other potential guests, I think this is the most logical way to greet them."
