Renji was out of his gigai and on his way towards the roaring spiritual pressure of Ichigo before you could blink. He wasn't as close to Orihime as some of the others, hell he'd only spoken to the human woman a handful of times. However, he had gone into Hueco Mundo for Orihime and he would storm across Manhattan for her as well.

His shinigami robes billowed behind him as he ran through the streets, he had to keep his powers in check, because he didn't want to waste them before he found Gin. Despite the limits Ichimaru was still a former Captain and that meant he STILL had considerable power despite any limitations here.

The running also helped Renji to calm down a bit. He knew Ichigo was going to be practically out of control and without Rukia around it was going to be difficult keeping him from doing something REALLY STUPID. Renji caught sight of Sado a few paces ahead as he rounded a corner. He didn't call out to him, merely picked up his pace until he was even with him, glancing at his friend from the corner of his eye.

Sado had a calm fury about him, like a storm boiling in the distance that you just knew was going to wipe out something once it reached you. Renji turned hi attention to Ichigo's raging spiritual energy, "Tch, even someone without spiritual awareness could feel this. What is that idiot thinking wasting it all before we even get to Ichimaru!"

For his part, Ichigo was barely able to keep himself from going off and finding Gin and ripping his to shreds right the fuck now. He'd been able to keep Inoue from being taken the first time around; he'd been unable to keep Rukia safe and with them in this damn city. He couldn't fail again.

Screw the waiting. Unable to contain himself further, he used the substitute shinigami badge to knock himself out of his body and stormed down the hall and out of the apartment building just in time to see Renji and Chad.

"I'm not wasting it," he said sharply. "Trust me. Ichimaru's going to get what's coming to him. He's long overdue."

Naoki's steps were measured and calm as he approached the group, going shirtless for the first time since the Vortex World. If any were to listen, it wouldn't sound any different from normal. Gravel crunched lightly underfoot, muffled shffs as his sneakers gripped the pavement. A slight rustle as his pants whispered against the air.

Sight would tell another story.

His eyes and jaw were set, and his markings glowed brightly as if to make up for his eyes not flashing in determination. The black stayed neatly within its borders, but every so often, there was a trembling under the surface, a threat that could burst forth at any notice.

He was here to fulfill a promise to YukoIchigo. No matter what else the future held, his promises were to be kept...especially if they involved saving a worldlife.

He was here because Chiaki and IsamuTatsuki werewas his friendsfriend.

The group was already beginning to assemble...already so many to save one person. He understood immediately the concern. He felt it, in diluted form, himself.

A call of greeting. {"I'm here to help. Is Tatsuki here yet?"}

No obstacles. No hesitation.

I will save.

Spin didn't know them man who had posted the message. He didn't know the people who were assembling the group. He barely even knew the girl who had been kidnapped. But that wasn't about to stop him. She was in trouble, and if he could do anything to help her, he was going to.

All of his ability to hear the soul's music had supposedly vanished with Spin's entry into this city, but the overwhelming emotion from the group... well, something made it awful easy to find them. The Agent approached the group--well, the two people present--slowing down as he neared. "I don't know if you need another hand," he started, forgoing introductions, "but I'm here if you need me."

It was bothering him. What was Ichimaru up to? Their exchange had revealed nothing. The shinigami captain just wasn't sure what Gin was hoping to accomplish from all this. Why did he reveal he had her? Something didn't add up.

Hitsugaya had already shed his gigai, leaving him invisible to most in the city. It wasn't hard to find the others with Kurosaki leaking out so much reiatsu. He only used a couple flash steps to catch up to them just in time to hear enough of Renji and Ichigo's exchange.

"Then stop leaking it everywhere," he interjected.

Chad put one big hand on Ichigo's shoulder, ignoring the others for the moment. Right now his friend needed guidance, and without Rukia Chad would have to do.

"We will get her, and you will show him his mistake." Chad squeezed his shoulder a bit. "First we need to find her, however, and we can't do that if the air is clouded. First we find her reiatsu, then we will defeat Gin."

Turning to the other two humans, who Chad realized could likely would only be able to see him, Chad said, "We cannot wait. Tatsuki will know where to find us. Come." Just to be safe, he repeated his words in Japanese. While he was unsure of either men, there was no time to debate their presence. If they could not handle things, Chad would get them away while the others fought.

Closing his eyes, he reached out with his own reiatsu. His spiritual senses were far from keen, and he wished Ishida was with them, but Orihime was special to them all. With any luck that connection would hold true.

"Tch," was all Renji gave in response to Ichigo's outburst. He crossed his arms, but he knew deep down Ichigo would somehow pull through it...he'd taken on captain level before. Speaking of Captains, Renji gave a nod to Hitsugaya when he approached, it wasn't HIS captain but the smaller shinigami did demand some respect. Hitsugaya WAS the only captain present in this world after all. Renji quirked a tattooed brow at the two people he didn't recognize, neither seemed like they'd be much help against Gin (could they even see the shinigami)?

He didn't argue though, maybe it'd be good to have people along who could just get Orihime out of there while the rest of them took care of Gin. Renji didn't bother closing his eyes, he just focused a little harder on their goal, Orihime, and tried to pinpoint her reiatsu. It was a little tricky since there were quite a number of colorful reiatsus in the city...strange and very different from anything Renji had felt before. Still, he had to find the familiar ones...the one that was Orihime or even Gin.

Ichigo nearly boiled over at Toshiro's order-captain or not, this was his friend they were talking about, and Inoue wasn't much of a fighter even before they'd arrived here. Who knew what her fairies could manage now? But it was his other friend's steady presence and quiet words that kept him from starting a fight they didn't need.

"Fine," he said at last. "How're we gonna find her then? I've been looking after her reiatsu for ages, but it's too hidden. Or maybe it just sucks under whatever's keeping us from cutting loose here. If one of you can do better, now's the time."

Naoki looked out at the streets and buildings, his face compressed in thought. His ability to sense demons allowed him to see the shinigami just fine, but sensing from a long distance was never one of his skills.

The big man seemed like he was one of the voices of reason among the group. Very useful...if the others' blood got any hotter, they'd boil.

Well. Introductions first, then.

{"My name's Kashima Naoki, and it's good that I'm able to help you. Now, if we have a general location, we can go with a room by room search. If it is another shinigami like you three,"} A pause to nod at the three spirits. {"...he can't evade my senses, nor can your friend's hairpin fairies I was informed of on the network."}

The shinigami wouldn't be a challenge either, at least not if they stuck together. He'd be nothing compared to Mot.

He turned, looking directly at Ichigo - empty air to any normal human. {"That would have been you talking, correct?"} he asked.

"Yeah," Ichigo replied, a little startled. Either because they already had the ability or because his presence had affected them, he'd mostly run into people who could see him lately. Then again, he didn't usually meet up with anyone when he was in shinigami form.

He turned back to the others, waiting for his answer.

Though he wasn't sure of the details, Agent Spin could at least figure out a few things from the conversations; that there were people here that he couldn't see, first off. Fair enough, he could make do with that. And they were looking for her... reiatsu? Okay. Spin gnawed at his lip. If this was what he was assuming, things would have been a lot easier if he were still back home.

He sighed. Should be honest; if he was going to slow them down, they should be warned of it. "'Fraid I'm not much use in tracking down any spiritual business... not here, at least. I can run, I can be a distraction if needed, I can try and get your friend out of the way if there's fighting. I'll keep as much out of the way as you need."

Hitsugaya was, if anything, the complete opposite of his shinigami companions. As many often described him, he was 'cold' and really seemed fairly calm, but for his vague annoyance at Ichigo.

It was a matter of common sense to him that Ichigo should be conserving his reiatsu. They were extremely limited here, so letting it leak out also seemed like a waste to the captain. Howver, Ichigo didn't have to answer to him, so he could do as he liked, Hitsugaya supposed.

"Do we have any information on his general location?" he asked, already suspecting the answer would be negative. No wonder Ichimaru hadn't seemed terribly worried.

Chad was glad Ichigo listened to him. Many people accused his friend of being an irrational hot head, and while Chad admitted he could be rather impulsive, the truth was Ichigo was a lot more thoughtful than people gave him credit for.

He pushed the others words out of his thoughts for the moment. Without Ishida there, he was the one with the strongest balance between connection with Orihime and sensitivity to Reiatsu. While his senses were not much better than Ichigos, and indeed he had no luck the past few weeks in finding her. Still, from the sound of that post Orihime had been hoping Gin would keep his word, and knowing her she likely tried to hide herself on purpose to keep her friends safe. Now, with any luck, she would give him a sign.

Closing his eyes he reached out his spirit over Manhattan, using the skills Yoruichi taught him to try and feel that bright presence that was so distinctly Orihime. The two of them had spent a great deal of time together training, being the only two members of their group with totally unique powers, and he had grown familiar with how she felt.

It was a painstaking process, but finally at last he felt a brush of warmth on the edge of his senses. Opening his eyes, he turned to the others and pointed in one direction. "That way," he said with absolute certainty. It wasn't a precise direction, but at least it was a start.

Renji was too antsy now to really participate in any small talk but at least one of the other people here could see the shinigami. The other dude would be good for getting Orihime out of there while they handled Gin.

The vice captain turned his gaze in the direction Sado was pointing and a grin broke his expression that let the others know he was ready to head out. "That's as good a lead as any, let's go," Renji replied, getting ready to run off that way.

"Going." Ichigo glanced around at the newcomers, wondering briefly if they could really handle themselves against someone like Ichimaru-but who knew? There were plenty of people with 'special' abilities in this damn city. And if they weren't up to it, it'd be their own fault.

And Ichigo was done with waiting.

They all seemed to have a mutual understanding of the importance of this, because the group moved with purposeful strides. Ichigo let Chad lead the way, but as the blocks went by, even his muted senses were able to detect some all-too-familiar reiatsu.

Crunch. Shff. Tpp.

Each step kicking up concrete dust.

Each step gripping cold asphalt.

Each step clicking through the winter air.

Silence.

Each eye focused on rescue.

Each eye focused on friendship.

Each eye focused on promises.

Naoki exhaled, his breath swirling fog before being broken.

If you so desire it...you may create a world of freedom...however you see fit...

As Naoki walked, his gaze turned to the only one of them who seemed vaguely uncomfortable. Unsure of his abilities. What he got himself into.

"...Are you afraid? You-"

That's when he felt it.
The candles' flames are flickering wildly
This...spiritual pressure, correct? was nothing to scoff at. Though, considering their numbers, his earlier prediction was sound.

He turned back to the man. "Is alright. Use what you have."
