Furthermore, as the only person here who both knew Orihime personally, and who Naoki and Spin could directly interact with, he was the logical choice to go with them. He couldn't say what either man's combat skills were, but the heat of battle was not the time for surprises like that. The shinigami had a good idea of what each other were capable of, Chad had ever confidence that they could handle Gin. Right now, saving Orihime was more important than his own wounded pride.
Turning to Naoki, Chad replied, "The others will attack Gin head on. You, Spin, and myself will go around the back and recover Orihime. Be careful, Gin may have set traps."
That said, once the other two men were ready, Chad slid the sledge hammer he'd taken to carrying off his back, and began moving cautiously in a circle around the building.

That left him with his nonexistent skills at surveying the land.
The place looked about ready to fall apart with any motion past breathing. The crabs wouldn't have much advantage, though - the walls were about as bad as the floor.
"Be slow," he cautioned. "Focus difficulty only...need time to examine."

The Agent surveyed the area. This was where she was being kept, too. This Gin guy...
"Traps, I can handle," he murmured. "Keepin' light on our feet'll make a world of difference."

Suddenly Chad was distracted by the sensation of the floor sagging under him. Holding up one large arm, he looked down and said, "I think there's a trap ahead. Be careful."

Rotting floorboards. Maybe not an intentional trap, but a hazard all the same. Step lightly, feel around...
The creaking suddenly built, and Naoki cursed, lapsing into Japanese as time-worn crumbling floor took him down and down and SLAM onto a jagged support beam, now holding up and boring through flesh instead of rotting wood.
Who needs traps when everything's falling apart at the seams?
Cough cough everything's red
{"Go!"} he called up, beginning to gather yoki for healing and escaping, trying to channel his pain into power. {"I'll be okay! I'll-"}
Chittering echoed from the shadows. Naoki's grimace turned feral.
Do you think being impaled makes me easy prey?

And being impaled and surrounded by crabs wasn't doing much for Naoki's argument either.
Spin gritted his teeth and gripped his bat. "Homie don't play that," he grunted, and Spin dropped down after Naoki--landing with considerably less blood. He staggered to keep his stance and glared to the monsters in the darkness. "Sorry. You're not in this alone."

Naoki was held fast, his hands gripping the wood but not getting anywhere. Can't pull up its still stuck in the ground can't pull to the side still too solid only option break crush BERSERK
With a roar and murderously painful twist, Naoki tore himself free, his prepared yoki beginning its work of piecing his midsection back together. He was lucky that he was well-rested, full of yoki just aching to do something.
He was also lucky the beam didn't do even worse. This was cutting it very close as-is.
Staggering, blood-soaked and markings glowing red, he snarled at the screeching predators that had come to the smell of a meal. It was one fury-drugged demon and a faithful companion against maybe ten crabs and it just wasn't fair.
Forty would have worked better.
Sparing a rough pat of Spin's shoulder, Naoki lunged forward, as much a wild beast as those who sought to kill him. Blood flew, teeth bit into eyes, and he grabbed and kept bending until SNAP SNAP SNAP anything that attacked him was in cracked and pleading pieces.

Even if he was, Orihime would never have wanted to be saved at the expense of someone else.
Leaping down after the Agent, Sado landed in a crouch, bringing his sledgehammer down on one of the nearer crabs, causing the creature to explode under the force of the blow, staining his boots.
Smiling slightly, he added, {"We move as a team. Lets deal with this threat quickly, and get Orihime."}

But just a moment. He hadn't pumped himself up to come down here to watch. He turned to his own couple of the critters, watching him with beady eyes, drool dripping between needle teeth and rasping noises in their throats. "Oh baby, pretty baby," he cooed.
One of the little monsters lunged, and Spin sidestepped it, bringing the bat up to meet it midair without much effort, "Oh honey, you let me down, honey." It thudded back to the floor, only for a moment before it scrabbled to its feet, and the second one darted in to double team him, "I ain't playin' childhood games... " They both came in at his legs, and he twisted aside, hopping over one and giving it a solid whack through the back of one's head, "...no more."
While the crabs tried to reassess their positioning, Spin swung in. "I said it's time for me--" crnnch "to even the score, so stake your claim," the wounded monster howled and a third leaped in, for him to bring up the butt of the bat, "your claim to fame," the rap just knocked the creature down, but he brought his foot on top to pin it there. "But baby call another name," the pinned crab's legs squirmed while the wounded one still screeched.
"When you feel the fire," he lifted his foot and stomped down, once, twice, "and taste the flame," and through, "Back off, back off, bitch."

We're alive.
Wiping the blood off his arms and face and everywhere else, he winced a little as something felt off. Something inside...
Ah.
Spitting out the jagged carapace bit in his mouth, he shook his head and stood ready to fight more...but it didn't look like it was necessary any longer. The big fellow and the guy with the headphones were doing great by themselves. Of course, support was always welcome, he guessed.
That suited him just fine.
Slamming his fist into his hand, he strode back into the fray, this time calling forth that bright shard of yoki that clove into one more crab as it sharpened to a razor's edge. Almost assuredly, this would be over in the next few seconds.

Instead he spun and smashed another crab into the ground with his hammer. It was more brutality than the teenager would usually employ, but these creatures were like Hollows, they would mindlessly attack until they or their victim was destroyed. The only way to say safe was to defeat them quickly, and hope that such carnage would not be needed in the future.
A third crab jumped at the young man, but he batted it out of the air with a backhanded blow, his hammer following the attack to finish it. It seemed as if they were almost done, though Chad suspected this was not the only surprise Gin had in store.

It screeched, wasting a moment in its intimidation for Spin to find the hilt of his bat again, and swing it over. What luck, he didn't need another bout of lyrics.
He pushed himself up again, dusting off his suit. The other two had done a masterful job of tearing the place up. "N...nice," was all he could manage.
