Fortunately, Russel was asleep. He never would have allowed this -- or if he had, he'd have insisted on coming along, which he was in no shape to do. This wouldn't take very long, and Fletcher would hurry back once he was done. So there would be little danger.
He took a backpack with him, packed with two sweaters -- one blue and one red. Akira could have both if she wanted, or she could pick whichever color she liked better. He slung the backpack over his back, then found one other item he would need. Among Russel's experiment materials were a few syringes filled with blood. It was probably Russel's, and Fletcher knew without being told that they were there to aid in transmutation. Apologizing silently, he slipped one into his coat pocket. He would replace it later, hopefully without Russel knowing.
After that, it wasn't long before he reached the cafe where Akira was waiting.
