Characters: Maria, James Sunderland
Content: She's holed up in a hospital, waiting for him to escort her. sound familiar...?
Location: Mount Sinai Hospital, 4th floor, an office
Time of Day: Late afternoon
Warnings: Bitchery and innuendo possibly, that tends to be how Maria rolls.
While waiting, she’d looked through the shelves in the desk, but had only really found papers, typical office supplies, and a surplus of gum packages, a few of which she liberated and stored in a pocket on the inside of her cardigan.
The doors and windows were locked, just like he’d told her to do.
She figured, as long as she was in this building, or not alone, she’d be safe. Bad as the monsters seemed, she hadn’t seen any evidence of them getting indoors...so far.
Her mind wondering a little, she did a visual sweep of the office she was in, trying to see if there was anything that would do as an impromptu weapon. Her best bet seemed to be one of the stools, or a lamp. For a moment, she entertained the mental of image of a questionably-dressed woman, fighting off a hoard of mutant crabs with furniture in the streets of Manhattan. It would only be funny, she decided, if it stayed just a mental image.
Her legs crossed and arms folded, she slowly did semi-circles in the chair behind the desk, absent-mindedly watching her reflection in one of the windows.
She didn’t look very different, if at all, but, still.
This would be the first time they had really seen each other since...
