Project Daisychain Endgame Rules
Because endgame vastly changes the scenario of Daisychain, we will be using some new rules and guidelines to help make playing easier for all. Please be sure to read all of these rules and guidelines carefully! Even though you won’t have journals available, overall your characters should have more freedom during endgame!
Guidelines
- Participation with all of your characters in the endgame is not mandatory, but it is encouraged. If you’d like to focus on a few particular characters, please be sure to let other players know who you’re not planning to thread much with so they will know to thread around you.
- To allow everyone the time to thread, especially without journals, Project Daisychain will henceforth be running on quadruple time. This means that every four days in real time will equal one day in Daisychain time, or that four weeks in real time will equal one week in Daisychain time. To help you keep track of this new change, we will now be announcing Day Changes instead of week changes. Day changes will announce what has happened during your characters’ imprisonment and what they can do now.
- All logs will need to be third-person logs unless a new method of first-person communication can be established. If this bogs down people too much, we can negotiate other ways of logging.
- To further help everyone move these important threads forward, henceforth we are not enforcing tag order. If you want to stick to tag order within threads and agree to do so with your fellow players, you may do so, but overall we will not be paying attention to tag order and players can tag at the speed they can best manage. Please do be considerate of your fellow players for all of these important events!
Rules
- Characters will have a free-for-all system regarding injuries. You no longer need mod permission to play out a serious or crippling injury. However, godmoding rules still apply: if you are going to severely injure another character, you must have that player's permission first. The mods will not severely injure your character without player permission.
- Again, because of endgame circumstances, we are allowing character death. Whether you want your character to survive to the end of the game is up to you, but you do not need explicit mod permission to kill your own characters. Godmoding rules also apply: you absolutely may not kill another player’s character without your permission. Also, please remember that the mods will not kill any of your characters without your permission. Your characters’ life is in your hands!
- Players have control over most Tagruato NPCs. There are a few that the mods will control. Here is how NPC control will work:
Guards (stationed on each deck of the ships) - Player control
Scientists (working in the labs on board) - Player control
Technicians (working throughout the ship) - Player control
Officers (running the higher levels of each ship) - Player control
Senior technicians (the people capable of operating the hidden areas on each ship) - Mod control only
Captain (each ship has one; they control the ship and all technicians/officers under them) - Mod control only
Monsters (Cloverfield, Herbie, and Basil) - Mod control only
The mods will be participating with these NPCs in major events, such as breaking into the hidden areas. The mods will also retain control over the monsters, and a major event regarding the monsters will be threaded if/when characters take control of the Pinnacle. Aside from these cases, players have control over the Tagruato NPCs.
There will be three posts made in the OOC comm., one for each ship, where all players can plot out their interactions and plan methods of escape and takeover of the carriers.
And finally, while your characters have a lot of free reign, there are a few THOU SHALT NOTS that you must keep in mind:
- Your characters CANNOT sink any of the three ships
- Your characters CANNOT damange the DRT beyond repair
- Your characters CANNOT destroy the entire city of Manhattan
- Your characters CANNOT kill any of the ships' captains (yet)
- Your characters CANNOT kill any of the three Cloverfield monsters (yet)
If you have any questions or ideas regarding the endgame, don't hesitate to contact the mods about it. And most importantly: HAVE FUN!
