(no subject)
Up at my in laws. Drive good, though my back was soooo sore by the end. Taste of Chicago was a bad idea, but damnit I wasn't about to let my pregnant body deprive me of some deep dish and fried...stuff. Snapped at my mom and my sister, deservedly I think, but I've definitely got a reputation among my family as an intolerant, cranky bitch. Eh. Hopefully when I'm no longer pregnant they'll love me again. Admittedly, I did get pretty emotional, but my mom was letting Kaden sit in the front seat of her parked car, with keys in his hand! She pointed out that she had the real car keys, but I still don't think it matters. He should not be behind the wheel. He should not be allowed to play in the car by himself. We all need to be consistent with the message that cars aren't toys. How hard is that? Seriously!
We saw Superman this afternoon. I liked it, though there were a few key things that bothered me. Like after he's injured and is recovering in the hospital, they have him in a room with the curtains closed. Hello! He gets his power from the SUN! What the hell do they think those stupid heat lamps all around him are going to do? Open the damn blinds! And Lex Luthor creates an entire island off the coast of New York without even a wave cresting ashore. I think that much water displacement would decimate the coast, and I think the only reason they didn't write one into the script was that they couldn't figure out how the hell even Superman would stop something like that. But otherwise it was a fun way to spend a couple hours, especially since it was cloudy and very windy all day here. I'm hoping tomorrow clears up because I'm sure Kaden would have more fun down on the beach than in the house. Not that he's unhappy here: Grandma got him a car transporter which he loves. Little boy, I tell you.
