Closing out Cookie Week

Mar 14, 2009 14:56

Alrighty.  My final Cookie Week submission.  This is technically not a cookie, but since it is made using cookies, I think it still qualifies.  And let me warn you:  THESE ARE ADDICTIVE.  YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LEAVE THEM ALONE.  This is a favorite of mine during the holidays, because I can give them away or take them as Hostess gifts, lessening their time around my home, tempting me.

Oreo Balls

1 package Oreo cookies, crushed  (easiest in a food processor, if you have one)
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 package white almond bark
1 package chocolate almond bark

Using a blender or hand-held mixer, mix Oreos and cream cheese together.  Roll into walnut-size balls and place on a cookie sheet covered in wax paper.  Chill for an hour.

Melt approximately 3/4 package of white almond bark, following package directions.  Stick a toothpick into an Oreo ball, and dip it in the white almond bark.  Repeat with all Oreo balls.  Allow to harden on wax paper. (approx. 15 minutes)

While waiting, melt about 1/4 package of chocolate almond bark.  When Oreo balls are no longer sticky to the touch, decorate with drizzles of white and chocolate almond bark
