Incident 1) President Strauss apologizes to the student body for possible discriminatory overtones when two students steal a fucking piece of artwork and burn it like lunatics. Nothing in the email implies that stealing and burning other people's art is wrong, so long as it can't be considered racist.
Incident 2) Scripps sends an apology for the use of the phrase 'jungle fever' while advertising a party. Local black man and resident diversity expert Mjumbe Poe still has no idea what connotations one can possibly draw from that phrase.
Conclusion: I owe the minority students of the 5C an apology. Several apologies, in fact.
First, I would like to apologize for using many syllables which racists have also been known to use through out history. I did not think my words through, and I'm sorry for any offense I may have caused through the abuse of such sounds as "ger", "dar", and "bun".
Secondly, I would like to apologize for occasionally wearing white shirts. White, being the standard color of the KKK, is a symbol of racial oppression throughout America and it was callous of me not to consider this when selecting my daily attire.
Finally I would like to apologize for having arms. Almost all know racists throughout history have had arms. They, like me, used them to manipulate objects on a day to day basis, sometimes in a discriminatory fashion, and I apologize for the possible connotations my arms might have to oppressed groups.
