Things are moving along - slowly, but they are moving. My sister is getting married July 23, and she's set on making as much as possible, so helping has taken priority. Free time has been filled with stapling together booklets of activities for the children who attend, rolling silverwere, and stamping then filling the baggies for birdseed.
All said and done there has been knitting these last few weeks. The Gathered Blanket I mentioned in my last entry has been halted at the moment due to needing more yarn. Baby blanket squares for the
Schuyler Blanket Project. Washcloths were finished at long last.
Now though the biggest task at hand involves both knitting and the wedding. I'm making my sister's garter. My sister seems rather happy about the idea, and I'm rather honored to have been asked. Which led me to the yarn store yesterday. Yarn was bought (I ended up spending more with that one skein - a lovely baby merino yarn which feels so lovely - than I have all summer, but special times require special yarn) and then wound.
The only part that makes me a teeny bit nervous is how tiny the needles are which I need to use. It's been a long while since I've used anything smaller than a US size 5; they look like toothpicks which could break at any moment.
Wedding's in 9 days. Can I make it? Only time will tell.
Happy knitting!
