I think it's been pretty-much established that I'm a basic, boring knitter. I like making simple patterns that are easy to memorize. I enjoy knitting the same sort of things - blankets, scarves and hats. I even tend to stick with the same sort of yarn and the same patterns most of the time. For me there's comfort in it all.
Guess that's why I'm enjoying this blanket thus far, even if it's hit a few snags along the way.
By the way, hitting snags while making a blanket of garter stitch and stockinette takes skill.
The basics - this is a pattern based on one from Weekend Knitting - one of two "pretty knits" books I picked up way back when I was first starting out which, despite only limited use have stuck around all this time. The pattern is called the "Fluffy Afghan". The yarn is the two skeins of Jo-Ann Sensations Rainbow Bouce held double while using US size 10 and 13 needles.
