My friend Maurine recently asked me to list my five favorite knitting patterns. My thinking was that while I'll probably make this list for my other blog, it fits here a little better. There were two ways I took this question, so you get two lists. Hope you enjoy.
Five Favorite Patterns I Haven't Made:
5.
Pop Tart Cell Phone Pocket --
I don't know anyone who really needs a cell phone pocket, but I do find this to be very creative and sweet looking.
4.
Biscuit Blanket --
It's been on my to-knit list for eight months now. Would love to make it eventually.
3.
Baby Mary Janes
--
Beka has some gorgeous patterns on her Etsy site, and I'm in love with many of them. These take the cake though as being my favorite baby/toddler bootie pattern.
2.
Alpaca Baby Shawl
--
There are some patterns I've reserved for those oh-so-special moments. This precious baby blanket is one of them. I really love the mixture of lacework with the simpler stockinette, and that it's made in the round. Have just cast on for it, too.
1.
Forest Path Stole
--
The pictures from this website really do it no justice. My dream would be to knit it up in a baby alpaca/silk blend to wear as a veil/shawl at my wedding.
Five favorite patterns I have made:
5.
Fetching --
Have made these now three times and have enjoyed making each one. They are a great way to get used to working with double pointed needles and with working cables. I feel clever each time I make them. They knit up fairly quickly, and have enough going on that you don't lose interest. (

4.
Cozy House Socks -- (Ravelry Link)
My favorite socks to make because, well, they're simple, fast, and made with worsted weight yarn. lol. Most socks are made using finer yarn so it takes longer. Maybe those patterns are more fancy, yet I enjoy simplicity. (

3.
Baby Bell Bottoms --
Aren't they cute? Very easy to make. For the pair I made a friend's daughter, I converted to make in the round rather than flat, so there would be barely a seam. I also changed the way the top part was made, using a different pattern. Still, I do love cute baby pants. lol (

2.
Toddler Tunic
-- (scroll down to see)
Another cute-yet-simple pattern. No seams again make this something I really enjoyed making. (

1.
Pinwheel Sweater --
This was the first sweater I ever made; only it could get me into sweater-making mode. It's so clever in design and the end product is so cute. I love looking at the various color choices people use. (
