November 5 Update:
First, the new FPs: my sister's capelet, the second ribbed scarf, and PIF gift #3. Yay to finishing things! Just sent out the first two PIF gifts; crossing my fingers the recipiants like them.
One FP that's also a list addition is the pinwheel sweater, which will be going to my cousin's little girl. As I said before, this was a pattern I've been eyeing for about a year. I considered, and bought yarn, to make another for a friend's daughter who is the same age, yet decided against it when mommy (hers, not mine) began eyeing the pattern. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? Yes, I'm kidding. Have been searching for a new pattern; we'll see where it takes me.
The other list addition is a set of facecloths for my sister. I thought it over, and decided that I couldn't simply give her a gift card for Christmas. I figured that facecloths will be nice to have and practical while she's traveling. Besides, how many of the other team members will have hand-knit facecloths? If I have time, I also would like to make a few for our friend who is also going on the trip, along with a little cash.
Finally, I've exchanged a project; the Hello Kitty doll for a Hello Kitty hat. This doesn't mean the doll will be abandoned; I'm just not sure where it will go at this point. At this point I'm considering also switching from socks for my mom to a shawl. I learned recently that she would like one, and found a simple, pretty pattern that would work nicely. With her birthday being in January, it may just be a matter of deciding which will go for what special day.
Month and a half to go!
EDIT: Have added another item to the list; my cousin's hat. See next entry for why.
