Last night, after I got off work, I hit a dog. She ran across the road right into the path of my car. Fortunately I had already seen her and had started slowing down, so it was only a light tap. The dog was fine

maybe it's a south florida thing, but i've always been told never to give animals away. you should always set a fee of at least $25 to keep your furry friends out of dog fighting pits.

That's something I've heard a few times as well... not to give the dog away free. If someone really wants a pet they're more likely to pay a nominal re-home fee. I think it's a big-city thing.

Actually, I'm going to just suggest not putting an ad in the paper. Again...my dad's a vet, and we have, for years, put up with a person calling us once every so often to see if we had any dogs or cats to give away to a good home. It's been suspected for years he was selling his "adoptions" to research labs.
