Half of a mod post, half of me being irritating. Again.

Hello guys. Lemme just get straight to the point of this post:

Please DO NOT upload any Aitsu no Daihonmei chapters onto Mangafox, Manga Traders, Manga-whatever-other-online-existing-site-that-exists because this is Zodiac Translation's request, and we don't want them being uploaded randomly to other sites. This community complies with their request ( Read more... )

This message is long and there are a lot of people who are too lazy to read it and will skip it. I think it would also help if you post a shorter version here (maybe one dated so that it is always at the top?) and on the profile page?
Something like "People can come here and join our community so please do not post the scanlations elsewhere. This is why:" and link to this longer message. I don't know. I think what you're saying is completely reasonable. It's not like this is a closed community. The "but we want to share with other fans" makes absolutely no sense in this situation.

It wouldn't matter how long or short the message is, because there will always be someone that really doesn't care what the scanlator(s) wishes. Especially if they are under the notion that because what the scanlators do is illegal there is no real reason they shouldn't do as they please, too.

So I say let her release what she needs to say because in this sort of situation there is nothing much they can but that. :(

I wasn't saying that she should take this down or something. It was just a suggestion for a second way to spread the message. If they have their rationale clearly contradicted right in front of them, it will cause an internal conflict that could potentially make them rethink their decision.
Then there are those who have no rationale and are instead merely vindictive. Hopefully none of those kinds of people are here.

I never said that she should take it down, though. Just pointed out that whether the message was long or short there are people who won't even bother with it all.

"Hopefully none of those kinds of people are here.

But they are here. The posts with the scans are locked so you have to be a member here. :(

"Then there are those who have no rationale and are instead merely vindictive. Hopefully none of those kinds of people are here." That was the full thought. Not everyone can be fit neatly into just two categories. There are not only either good innocent members who never share OR evil vindictive people who always share no matter what. My comment is about reaching the people in-between.
"So I say let her release what she needs to say..." is the part of your first comment that confused me because I thought you were implying I DIDN'T want her to say what she needed to say. If that's not the case then ignore that part of my response.

No. No. I wasn't trying to imply that at all. I can see how, 'So I say' could be misconstrued in that way, but I just meant in general and not direct at you.

Sadly, I think in this situation the person was more in the terms of 'I don't care what the scanlator wants' because she pretty much has the message posted everywhere on the posts and within the scans themselves. Not to mention the person that uploaded to Mangafox didn't even leave a name for contributor.

I know there is some people in between (especially if they are reasonably new to the manga fandom)but I don't think that was the case here. Yesterday morning when I saw the post on the MF forum linking to this comm I had a feeling that it was going to be uploaded so I checked back that evening and my assumption was right. :(

<3 Thank you both anyway, for your honest responses.

I know this message probably won't reach the uploader, but at least new members new to scanlations will be able to understand why scanlators wish to keep scans low. I realized I forgot to mention this is a Libre title...!

Sadly, I can't keep a top post here like in journals. This function isn't available for communities, and this particular layout isn't suited for keeping a sticky note either. :\ Believe me, I tried. D ( ... )

We don't need to agree to disagree because I don't disagree AT ALL with ANYTHING you wrote. You have my full support. At no point was I ever disagreeing or against anything you were doing or saying. I'm so sorry that what I wrote came across that way. It was not my intention at all.
When I wrote that "we want to share" makes absolutely no sense, I was talking about the argument of the people sharing outside of the community and how because they can just join here, their argument has no foundation. My idea itself was also written very badly -_- but you've already answered me about how it wouldn't work.
I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I can believe I wrote something so ambiguous. I really shouldn't write when I'm rushed and tired. I feel so bad. I'd delete it, but I don't want to disrespect you or kelly_h80.
