We're BaaaaaaaaaackWow - National's was... intense.
Team Oakland put the smack down in prelims winning both our bouts by large margins - over some powerhouse teams no less. Then, for the umpteenth time, we ran into the eventual winner of the tournament in Semifinals - St Paul. These cats were super dope - rocking 30s in 2 different rounds and bringing multiple folks to tears with their words and performance. Congrats St Paul - we didn't loose at all, y'all just won.
But enough looking back - what's up going forward? Where's the Oakland Slam gonna be? When's the next show? What's the dealio? Well here's some GREAT NEWS: The Oakland Slam is moving to a twice monthly schedule, to a NEW HOME and BACK to our FAVORITE VENUE ever! Beginning in September the Oakland Slam will have shows on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays. On the 2nd Thurs this month we'll be at Spice Monkey from 8:00 - 10:00 (1628 Webster St (@ 17th)). On the 4th Thurs every month we'll be at... wait for it... THE OASIS!! Yup, you heard it here first - The Oasis is back open and we're headed home.
So - for September that makes Thu 9/10 @ Spice Monkey ($7) and Thu 9/24 @ The Oasis ($10).
