As if I didn't know already, it has just been confirmed that my child is very smart. Based on Celeste's 3rd and 5th grade end of year tests, it has been determined that she qualifies for the advanced/gifted program going into middle school. They placed her on the 'wait and watch' list at the end of 3rd grade, and since she just finished her 5th grade tests last week, I just got the phone call a few minutes ago. Tomorrow, after her graduation, we get to sit down and go over her test scores and sign the paperwork to make sure she's placed in the correct group in middle school. From my understanding, middle school doesn't offer too many advanced courses, but it does mean that she'll be able to take algebra before the rest of the kids her age.
