That Was The Weekend That Was

Friday -- The (con/ob/de)struction crew in front of my place of business managed to break the water main that supplies all three building.  We were sent home at noon.  I managed to get all my Saturday chores done Friday evening.

Saturday -- The Universe heard me boast on Facebook.  I had to spend Saturday fixing a major plumbing problem.  I cannot tell you how much I loathe plumbing.  We crashed at my mother's house.

Sunday -- Blacksmith Sunday.  Today's class was tempering tool edges.  After class, I managed to finish one-half of one hinge for a Viking chest.  We did not find any more alcohol or photo albums at my mother's house.  However, I have a cigar box with 50 years of funeral cards in it and an interesting document.  One of my great great grandmothers was married twice.  She had three children by her first husband of which I am a direct descendant of one of them.  When her husband died, she married again and had two children by her second husband.  Her great grandson on that side documented all her descendants from both husbands.  He sent a copy to my mother a few years ago.  Weirdly enough, a guy I went to grade school, high school and boy scouts with is on his side of the family tree.  We were third cousins and neither of us knew it.
