So I just binged the season of Revenge thus far in about two days, since it premiered while I was in Russia.
Thoughts behind the cut.
Oh Emily/Amanda. And Emily/Amanda in the pairing sense. Fandom is not disappointing me by acknowledging that this is basically text, though I have minimal pairing loyalties when it comes to this show. I'm just in it for the sociopathic roller coaster ride of pretty people. I agree with other people's assessments that everyone on this show sucks so much it makes it easy to want Emily to set them all on fire. Except Nolan. He can stay, since he provided the subject line for this post.
This show fills one of the Alias-shaped holes in my fannish heart. Victoria Grayson is no Irina Derevko, but I will always have a fondness for scheming matriarchs and she does nicely.
Charlotte and Declan manage to not make me want to vomit or hit them all the time, which is pretty impressive for a teen pairing where the guy kind of reminds of Jess Mariano from Gilmore Girls.
The only thing that's driving me really nuts at the moment is Conrad. We know why Victoria does what she does, for the most part: she loves her kids and sometimes she has moments of humanity because she did love David Clarke, but we have no real idea why he thought the whole "financing terrorism and bringing down planes" was a good idea. And unless I missed something, it's not clear why he selected David Clarke as the fall guy, since we also don't know exactly when he found out about Victoria's affair. Filling those things in would make me happy, though let's face it, I am not watching this for the plot.
Now, to wait for someone to write something long and plotty that features Emily being smarter than everyone.
