For the past three months, I've been living off Girl Scout cookies, veggie burgers, and Torchwood spoilers. This diet has led to me being almost completely spoiler-free for Doctor Who, which is actually pretty great. All I know is what's been in the theatrical and "next time" trailers. So it's all great.
The problem, therefore, comes in the guise of MORE TORCHWOOD SPOILERS. I swore to myself that I would read every spoiler EXCEPT those for episode 13.
So, today, I go onto
torch_wood, and what do I find? TWoP spoilers for 2x11, 2x12, and 2x13. Lovely.
I read the ones for 2x11 and 2x12 but not 13. And it's fine, and I vaguely wish I hadn't read the ones for 12, but since they were pretty much harmeless, it's okay. The trouble is in 13. Which I did not read, and which I wanted so badly to.
Because it's fine to be spoiler free, and it's fun to be spoiler whore, but when you suddenly decide to get away from that, it's so bloody difficult.
And while spoilers are temporarily satisfying, I've found that they make waiting even worse. I mean... I'm totally spoiler-free for Who, and I think that's going to make it ten billion times better. Because I don't know what's coming. Except for what was in trailers. But plotlines? NOPE. Just a couple character and casting and alienrace spoilers. That's it.
It's going to be brilliant, more brilliant that I don't know what's coming. Somehow, though, I'm a tad bit worried that this will make Torchwood not as great or something. Because I sort of know what's coming. Will it ruin it? I don't know. I hope not.
Damn.
Next year, I'm giving up spoilers for Lent.
