I'm at 42%! That's fantastic, but I still need more help. (Yeah, yeah...I can hear the jokes from here.)
I figured out last night that if I got $25 from everyone on my Facebook friends list, I would wind up way over the required $1800.
It's amazing how just a little can go a long way:
$10 gets a breast cancer patient transportation to treatment.
$25 can get a breast cancer patient transportation to treatment and pay the co-pay for their medication
$30 can purchase a wig when treatment causes them to lose their hair
$100 can get an uninsured woman a mammogram or a bone scan to determine if breast cancer has spread to her bones
$250 can provide chemotherapy to an uninsured patient or get a new patient pre-treatment work-up - x-rays and lab work
$1000 can get an MRI to help a patient determine if a mass is malignant or benign or a biopsy of breast tissue to see if cancer cells are present
