I agree that pionering isn't necessary. Getting the hours isn't necessary. It's all about teaching people about Jehovah as much as you can with a sincere heart. "Pioneer" is a pretty word. It gives you recognition. Is that really what we want? Unfortunately, in this organization, pioneering does benefit us sometimes. For instance, if you have a husband who is reaching out to be an elder, it helps if his wife is pioneering, even if she has no love or faith and is only doing it for him to become an elder. I know it ridiculous, but it's true. Pioneering also helps you to get more backing from the elders if you want to move to a foreign speaking congregation or to another country. Sometimes you have to work with the system. And so long as you aren't contradicting God, then you're good.
Don't quit pioneering just because you don't feel you have the pioneer spirit. I don't think "the pioneer spirit" is all it's made out to be. Everyone gets down sometimes. Or feels like they could be doing more. Find ways to strengthen your relationship with Jehovah. That's the most important. He will give you what you ask for. You quit pioneering because you can't get the time, or your love or faith has faded. Don't do things because of how it makes you look. Do it for how it makes Jehovah feel.
