There's a very well written account on Kotaku about the sort of madness surrounding the PS3 launch in Japan. It's very eye-opening and you'll learn some things you most likely never would have expected. For those of you who don't care about video games, you could probably still take something about politics and economics away from reading it.

That said, whoever is handing out tickets for our 24+6 PS3's Friday morning better be flanked by at least two of our giant loss prevention guys for security. I would not doubt there will be a furious mob.
