Yesterday while at Best Buy, I saw a sign about a job fair Friday and Saturday. Since I'm not yet officially a Target employee, I figured I'd stop in and try my chances their. To be honest, I think I'd rather work at Target than at Best Buy, but Best Buy's 5%-over-cost employee discount totally slaughters Target's 10%-off employee discount.
It was fortunate I already applied to the Colonial Best Buy less than a month ago, since they were able to pull up that application from the database, saving me a hellishly long time attempting to fill out another electronic application with their never-fully-functional software. The GM who interviewed me actually drove in from...I forgot where exactly, but 30 minutes north of West Palm Beach. Ouch. But he was doing it to help out the GM of this store with interviews. We had a good chat, and I think he was totally sold on me. He said I'd probably hear back within the next three days.
Best moment was when Steve, the tall skinny black security guy, had to use his key to open the door to the security room so that the interviewer and I could have a place to conduct the interview. "So, you're finally applying for a job here," he joked. Yeah...I probably might as well get paid if I'm going to come to the store so often.
So. Now to play the waiting game and see which store calls me back first.
