Let's talk about Jess, because Janel and Keegan aren't much interesting. X-P

So Jess wound up at Chi Omega.

Aside from also wall-mounting the surround sound speakers in the living room and running the wire along the baseboard and around the frame of the sliding porch door, she also had me mount her TV swing arm on the wall. That stud finder we bought sure paid off today (though you only needed to see the guy using it if you wanted to find a stud...har har har). Fortunately she has two exterior walls, so we wouldn't be disturbing anyone with the late-night drilling. Anyway, the drill bit was only two inches long, and I was supposed to drill 3 inches into the wall. I figured since we were putting screws into the holes (giant ass screws, they may have been), I could just push through during the screwing. I had the damnedest time using the required allan wrench to do all that screwing. About 30 to 45 minutes into the project, I nearly smacked myself for not realizing I could also use a different tool to turn the bolt using the hex shape of the head. At first I attempted to use her power drill, but it didn't have nearly enough torque to do any twisting. Fed up, I returned to abusing my hands with the allan wrench, imagining that maybe I could use my ratchet screwdriver, though I wouldn't be able to get enough turning power into that either. Then it struck me...a ratchet. I almost screamed that I didn't realize it earlier. Using the ratchet, I was able to put in a screw in something over one minute. Well shoot. The diagram in the instructions says, we should be able to pull down with 200lbs of force and it shouldn't get pulled off the wall; if it does, then it wasn't installed properly. Jess dared to do the first pull up. Then I did a couple. Now I want a pull-up bar... Oh...then there was the part where we had to actually lift TV up onto the thing. Even though it's mounted now, I feel incredibly uneasy about it hanging there so far above the ground....err, floor. The ground's further down still....
