Had a private fencing lesson yesterday, as one student had a bad back and a couple others were sick. Coach decided to introduce me to the sabre.

And it rocked; I turned out to be much more natural at it than the foil.  I was doing well at foil, but it was a strain.  There's an element of calculation to it that I'm not good at.  Sabre is more reactive, and I'm more comfortable with that.   There was also more arm and less leg, which was better for me.

So Coach was pleased to have discovered this, and it looks like there will be more sabre in my future.  The sabre lessons are shorter and more intense than foil, and that works well for me too.

It killed my arm though!
