Moving stuff around.

"To truly know shadow,
One must concede and learn the secrets of fire first"

Etched into the wisdom of the ages by the touch of Hellfire.

Winter couldn’t have been more obvious this last week. It has been cold, raining (sometimes hailing) and mainly very wet and muddy. We moved the HQ to a different base and now I’m even closer to home then I’ve been before.
15 minutes drive from home to base is something rather unique when a soldier is considered a front echelon soldier. This makes life a lot easier for me and a lot harder for most other people since bus traffic is rather scarce. Hopefully all the other soldiers would get organized buses to some main station or another.

Had another one of those moving ninjutsu sessions. Sum of no more then 7 different tricks for whole two hours might sound low… but each and every one of them is a new treat. Learning Kukishin Dan Ryu right now with some difficulties. This is an certain type of ninjutsu which, like most other styles, is supposed to take n better armed and armored opponents. Mainly Samurai warriors. Moving around in large and flowing movements and using very short and jerky locks to deliberately crush the adversary’s joints under the weight of the samurai’s own armor. 4 different versions of kukishin main Kata and 3 knife versus knife tricks made the lesson a nice show of where I should improve. It seems that though I move correctly I still lack the correct way of thinking in Kukishin. Too short is a problem when dealing with an enemy twice your weight and half meter longer in reach.
Maybe I’m just not used to wrestling down bears.

Ah well, improvements will come in due time and due training.

Happiness and salted wisdom.
