Video tapes and the fine art of hurting people.

“Burn, baby… BURN!”
Blessed by the sign of the King.

Went to yet another training session today, and had quite a lot of fun. This last year training is dedicated to hurting people up close and personal which suits me just fine. I’m terrible with actually hitting people with regular punching.
So I resort to dirty fighting, wrestling and generally being quicker or smarter then the foe. Ninjitsu provides all the dirty tricks in the book, and is pretty good at suggesting some new ones even if you think you’ve seen it all before.

It seems like my old suit fits me quite well these days which is a good thing, and rather surprising. It didn't fit me at all since I was 16, which is quite odd. I don't remember my shoulders growing any thinner in the last 4 years. The belts are all in order and I finally got me that last bit of confidence needed to actually wear the correct color.
It’s not that I’m bad it’s just that I’m not as good as I once was. With most of the repertoire gone to two years of army service, it’s easy to see where the confidence and surety of movement had gone too. Apparently, I learn a lot faster then ever before.

Had a blast of a session today (or is it yesterday?). My Sensei seems to review each tape of the grand master about 20 times to learn all the tricks they don’t tell to guys out of Japan. Not quite the old method of learning from moth-eaten scrolls, but it works.

Amazing how much pain you can inflict while holding to one finger of your foe.

Peace, love and enraged shootouts.

Take care.
