After yesterday's wrong contact lens incident I (a) managed to do it again today and (b) got soap under the new correct lens shortly thereafter. Ow. Ow,ow, owwwww. Eyesight: I'm doing it wrong. (I also currently only have one lens in, which makes typing interesting).
I scurried off to London yesterday, and pretty much melted as soon as I got off the train. Londoners are made of sterner stuff, for they zoomed hither and yon as I continued melting my way into the British Museum, where I saw the new
Hadrian exhibit. If you get a chance, go to it! It's wonderful - items have been borrowed from museums all over the world for it. As I came round the corner to the section on Hadrian's boyfriend Antinous a woman behind me remarked, "It all gets a bit sordid now". Even as I turned to stare at her incredulously, the crowd swept her away, and I could look at the
cup of buttsex Warren cup and the incredibly beautiful statues in peace. (If Antinous looked anything like the images of him displayed, he was quite the looker, I have to say).
After another bit of extreme heat (damn youuuuuuuu, Picadilly Circus), I bought onigiri lunch boxes in the Japan Centre, then met up with
toscas_kiss for sake and sushi. (She got me good - I'd been reading a scary story about apparitions in mirrors, so you can imagine my reaction when her reflection leapt up behind me as I tried to make myself presentable in the ladies' . . .)
And now I'm having a nice lazy day, for which my feet thank me.
